Folks, the 19 Jewel Railroads have long been my favorite, and for good reason...some of the companies finest, highest quality railroads were 19 Jewel! The 16 and 18 Size 19J Bunn, 16S Sangamo Special (Illinois' finest), The Hampden 16S 19J Railway, and this beauty here all were among the best. This was a presentation to one Sam Ardell from his fellow workmen at the Union Switch & Signal plant in Pittsburg (Penn Terminal) on Sept 14th, 1910.

US&S made all the railway signals and equipment for the various rail lines. Sam's workers obviously thought a lot of him to gift him this top line railroad watch! What a neat piece of watch/railroad history here!

Folks, this is another one of the most sought after, desirable configurations for the 992B.

Circa 1930-31, LS, Adjusted 5 positions, double roller, gold center wheel, Elinvar Hairspring, RR Grade/Approved, this is a beautiful and quite scarce example of a 992E. This fine timepiece also features an original Hamilton double sunk bold boxcar hairline free #519 dial, original blued steel hands, and the original Hamilton Railroad #5 Yellow GF Model Case!

This is the very scarce "narrowstripe" pattern model used on only the first 2000 or so 992 Elinvars and produced for only about 18 months in 1930-31 that looks exactly like a 992 model except marked elinvar under the balance. All the later 992Es had the wide tuxedo damaskeening. It's also all original with the correct Model #5 case and a beautiful boxcar dial. Very hard to find railroad so give this a close look.

Case... is a very nice Hamilton Railroad Model #5 done in 10K yellow gold filled. Marked "Hamilton Railroad Model" on inside back. Personalization on inside only has been taken out. This is one of the correct cases for this scarce early model 992E.

Only 67 of these early Elinvars were shipped from the factory in this Model 5 Case...see factory Hamilton shipping records link below...not many like this exist!

Plain polished back still showing light evidence of original sand marks. Bow is tight, like new original crown. I've always had many requests for this case model...they're just not out there! Take a look at this case...as crisp and new as they come! Like new overall condition, shows very well. Also has the correct original bow Most do not. This case model is one of the most desirable of all Hamilton cases, and very hard to find in top notch condition such as this! Very Desirable Railroad Model #5 Yellow Gold Filled Case!

Dial... is original glass enamel Hamilton double sunk #519 "boxcar" dial. It is beautiful...no hairlines evident...one scratch by 8...very stunning! Folks, they don't get much nicer than this one. Beautiful original 3X matching blued Hamilton RR style hands and nice crystal.

Movement...is fully marked as stated above and in excellent condition. Gold center wheel. Very scarce early 992 "narrowstripe" pattern Hamilton produced in only two early runs of these 992 Elinvars! Marked Elinvar in different early font under the balance wheel. Running well. Really must be seen to appreciate.
Folks, this was a hybrid 992E produced in very low numbers. It is a beauty, and even finding one is next to impossible. This one has the correct model #5 case that would have came on only 67 of these models. Will definitely be one of the highlights of your Hamilton Collection, because of it's rarity. Judge this one for yourself, and, like me, you'll have to agree it's well worth owning. In these uncertain times, wouldn't you rather have some funds in investments like this?...Beautiful early 992E Elinvar "Narrowstripe" Pattern with a stunning boxcar dial in one of only 67 Hamilton Railroad Model #5 Cases Produced and Shipped in 1931!......$789.00

Uninitialed Shield on front. Beautiful Coin Edge. Case opens to 90 both sides hinges are very tight and work well. Superior Quality and condition Providence 14K YGF Case!

Dial... is original double sunk railroad hunter dial with large bold roman numerals and red 5 minute markers. Original Dial for this high grade 1902 hunting case watch. Light line at 38, couple small lines which I couldn't even get to show up. I wanted to leave this dial on the watch as it is the Original correct dial for this time period. Beautiful correct 3X matching blued hands as well. Beautiful Roman DS Dial and Hands!

Movement... still looks like new on this fine timpiece. It features a high grade gold starburst regulator fitted with a Diamond End Stone & fully railroad adjusted. Matching Full Oval Case Screws that this watch demands. Winds sets and starts perfectly good balance runs straight and true and is timing really close. Has a lite scratch on top plate due to a screwdriver slipping off the case screw at some point in time. Nice clean example of an early Vanguard RR Hunter.

ONLY ABOUT 800 OF THESE 18S 19J VANGUARD HUNTERS WERE MADE!

Very Few ever show up. I looked for a very long time and never found one, this is one hard watch to acquire, and one every 18S Waltham collector wants, and who wouldn't? These rare birds seldom surface, and one overall this nice is tough to find. Folks, this, in my opinion, is an excellent buy. You're not only getting a very rare Vanguard 19J hunting movement, (one star watch), you're also getting a super nice crisp hunting case. Time has shown that combinations like this will always be a consistent winner. This was the top of the line in Railroad Hunters back then. They just weren't made any better! This one even more so because of the rarity. I've had only one other and seen only a few...ever. This is the "look" everyone wants in a 992, so don't delay...this one is extra nice...beautifully damaskeened!

Case... is a new Classic Watch Co. "Pacifica" white alloy screw front and back Display Case. These are newly crafted special cases, only 500 were made in white metal. Unique example!

Dial... is a beautiful Hamilton double sunk porcelain #576 blindman arabic type dial. Correct dial for 1928 production. It is perfect. Nice blued hands as well. Hard to find #576 factory dial in this nice of condition like this one!

Crisp Case...NICE!
Running Well..$99!

Circa 1912, here's a pretty 'lil Elgin 7 Jewel in remarkable shape! Pendant~Set with Gilded Plates, beautiful steel wheels/regulator/or screws, and the case screws are original and full, a Grade 293, Serial #17,383,465 From 1912 the very same year the TITANIC was built and sank, tragically claiming the lives of 1,523 souls. This one is a survivor from the same ERA and it runs, winds, and sets nicely.

A single sunk dial of porcelain with red 5 minute markings and ELGIN simply in block, I see no hairlines or other problems. The matched original hands are nicely blued and still look almost new and are Double Swell Spade & Pointer.
Cased in a newer Base Metal Defiance Screw Back & Bezel case with fancy edging and Rope Styled center section with a smooth plain back that is so crisp it looks like white gold! The bow is tight and the crown sharp and E-Z to wind. It has a clear glass crystal with no blems.

The Titanic which was almost 900 ft long, that's 3 football fields long, had 4 smokestacks, which one stack was just for looks, burned 825 tons of coal per day and left a HUGE Carbon Footprint. This nice 'lil Elgin leaves NO Carbon Footprint and today after 107 years, ticks right along! If you are looking for a daily wear watch that doesn't cost an arm and a leg as well as one with some historical significance, this one is a great carry watch.....Doesn't get any better......$99.00
